Strengthening the Brand Presence in North India
Global casual dining giant TGI Fridays has officially opened its newest flagship restaurant in the heart of New Delhi’s iconic Connaught Place. This strategic move highlights the brand’s aggressive growth trajectory in the Indian market, reflecting a broader commitment to scaling its presence across the country.
The new outlet is the result of a collaborative effort between Bistro Hospitality—the master franchisee for TGI Fridays in India—and its North India franchise partner, Feastary Hospitality. This launch serves as a significant milestone in their ongoing partnership, which focuses on a phased expansion strategy throughout the northern region.
Ambitious Growth Plans
The expansion in New Delhi is part of a larger, rapid growth phase for the chain. According to Kuunal Maiti, CEO of Bistro Hospitality, the brand is currently operating locations in Kolkata, Hyderabad, Lucknow, and Gurgaon. With the addition of the Connaught Place site and an upcoming location in Vasant Kunj, the company is set to double its store count from three to six within a single 12-month period.
“This expansion will double the store count from three to six within a span of 12 months. Several additional locations are already being planned, underscoring the brand’s continued expansion and long-term commitment to the Indian market,” said Kuunal Maiti.
Suraj Mahant, managing partner at Feastary Hospitality, noted that the Connaught Place opening is a key step in their vision for North India, providing a strong foundation for future sites in the region.

Global Vision for 2030
The growth in India aligns with TGI Fridays’ overarching international strategy. Known for its menu of American-inspired dishes and signature handcrafted cocktails, the chain currently operates in over 40 countries. In January, the company revealed its ambitious “1-2-3 Strategic Vision,” a long-term plan designed to scale the business significantly by the end of the decade. Key objectives of this roadmap include:
- Opening more than 1,000 new units globally.
- Achieving a target of $2 billion in annual revenue by 2030.
As TGI Fridays continues to refine its operational footprint, the focus remains on delivering its established dining experience to a growing customer base in key urban markets across India.
