Strong Monthly Performance in Vietnam
Vietnamese electric vehicle (EV) manufacturer VinFast Auto has reported a significant uptick in domestic demand, with light passenger vehicle sales reaching 17,955 units in June 2026. This performance marks a 58% increase compared to the 11,382 units delivered in the same month of the previous year, reinforcing the company’s position as a dominant force in Vietnam’s zero-emission vehicle market.
Mid-Year Sales Trajectory
The June figures contribute to a robust first half of the year for the automaker. Total domestic sales for the first six months of 2026 reached 115,916 vehicles, representing a 72% increase over the 67,569 units sold during the first half of 2025. According to data reported by Just Auto, this growth has been fueled by a diversified product portfolio catering to both commercial and private sectors.
Model Performance Breakdown
Demand remains broad across the company’s vehicle lineup, with specific models gaining traction in different segments:
- Limo Green: The company’s best-selling model, recording 27,927 deliveries through mid-year, primarily serving the taxi and public transportation sectors.
- VF3: Private vehicle demand reached 23,781 units.
- VF5 and Herio Green: These models recorded a combined total of 20,167 units.
- VF6: Total deliveries reached 14,045 units.
- MPV 7: Sales accounted for 9,177 units.
- VF7: The model recorded 6,849 deliveries.
Expansion into Entry-Level Segments
To further capture market share, VinFast recently expanded its portfolio with the launch of the VF 2. This small electric city car is positioned as an entry-level offering with a price point of US$ 7,150. The company has confirmed that it expects to begin customer deliveries for the new model in September, a move likely intended to broaden its reach among price-sensitive urban consumers.
As VinFast scales its operations, the company remains a primary driver of electrification trends within the Vietnamese automotive landscape, balancing its commercial fleet presence with a growing footprint in the private passenger vehicle market.
